Annually, the PNCFA provides awards for exceptional members, as recommended by their colleagues. The awards provided annually are:
- Chief of the Year
- Officer of the Year
- Firefighter of the Year
- Fire and Life Safety Educator of the Year
The applications for the above awards will be announced at the July PNCFA meeting and will be available on the Association’s webpage or by mail (upon request).
The applications must be submitted by September 30th. The award recipients will announced at the October PNCFA meeting.
If the Chief of the Year award recipient is the Fire Chief of their department, the recipient will be submitted by the PNCFA to the North Carolina Association of Fire Chiefs (NCAFC) for consideration of their annual Chief of the Year award (volunteer or career chiefs’ category as applicable).
- The Chief of the Year award will be for a sitting fire chief.
- The Chief of the Year (if not the Fire Chief), Officer of the Year, and the Firefighter of the Year award recipients will be submitted by the PNCFA to the North Carolina State Firefighters’ Association for consideration of the NCSFA Firefighter of the Year award.
